Dear Folks: You may know me as the longtime seller of better men’s clothing via ebay. Over the years, I’ve sold over 6000 items and have hundreds of SF members among my customers. Now, in addition to that, I have a new venture: a live, in person sale of a giant lot of goods from the Alan Flusser's highest luxury line. The sale will be held in the Flatiron District on Friday April 29 and Saturday April 30 only. (Full details below). If you went to the Panta trunk show last month, you will recognize the space – it’s the same. For those of you who are new to the game, designer Alan Flusser is widely recognized authority on luxurious yet durable style for men. His books on men’s style, starting with 1981’s “Making the Man” have been an influence on countless readers including myself. His film work includes styling Michael Douglas as Gordon Gekko in the first WALL STREET. His original inspiration is Savile Row style soft tailoring circa 1940, adapted to contemporary lives and tastes. The sale lot includes 100 pieces of tailored clothing, including custom-made suits, coats and trousers as well as unstructured ‘slack’ jackets by J Keydge of France in lightweight linens and wool tweeds. The showroom sample size was 41L, so anyone approximately of this size is in for a treat. There are also 100 bolts of cloth from the best mills & merchants in the world including W Bill and Loro Piana. About three quarters are suiting, the remainder shirting. If you wish to begin your bespoke adventure on the spot, there will be a special promotional deal with custom shirtmaker CEGO (SF member shirtmaven) who is located downstairs in the same building. For suits, Mr Ned does CMT and is just seven blocks down Fifth Avenue. There will also be dozens of ties from the US, England and Italy. The latter, I believe are made by Drakes and Nicky. And there are dozens of squares by Simonnot-Goddard. Plus dozens of shirts, sweaters, casual trousers, dress and sport hoisery and other items. The total count is about 500, so there is something for everyone. You may never again have this chance to benefit from Mr. Flusser’s impeccable super-luxurious taste at below-wholesale prices. (Some items cost as little as $25.) In addition, I will have a selection of my best ebay offerings, including tailored clothing & accessories from Sartoria Partenopea, La Vera Sartoria Napoletana, Canali, Henry Poole, Weatherill, RLPL, Smalto, Charvet, Brioni, J Press and others, many not yet listed on ebay. If there is anything among my 200 ebay listings you wish to see in person, I will bring it at your request. Cash, paypal and all major credit cards accepted. Questions? Email aaron@schloff.com or post in this thread. We look forward to seeing you! FLUSSER CUSTOM SHOP SALE by mack11211 246 Fifth Ave., Suite 511, fifth floor (Fifth Ave. at 28th Street) New York, NY 10001 Friday, April 29 12-7 Saturday, April 30 10-4 Cash/paypal/cc Tell your friends! Note that this sale has no business connection to Mr. Flusser who since late 2010 is the proprietor of his own shop. This is an off-price sale. As a 41L I would love to be there. Unfortunately I don't get to NYC until May 12th

I'm a fan of his clothing and accessories. Have fun. I'm sure many of the SF gang will be there.

The ties retailed for $200-$250. At the sale the English and Italian ties will be $60 (these are Drakes and Nicky), while the American ties will be $50. Great avatar, btw! Styling Gordon Gekko for the first Wall Street is one of Flusser's greatest claims to fame.

Worry not!

Next stop for unsold items will be SF.

But in-person customers Friday & Saturday have first crack at it.

Here is a pic of the tailored clothing in my apartment (NOT the sale space) As, you can see, the three racks make up about 20 rack feet of clothing. Sizes range from 38 to 50 US. I will also bring another rack of my own stock, including many of my best ebay items and many not listed of the same quality. Labels include RLPL, Canali, Corneliani, Sartoria Partenopea, Smalto, Cifonelli, Bernard Weatherill, etc. If there is anything in my ebay listings you wish to see, just send me a message and I will bring it.

Carl, How much fabric is needed for the average dress shirt? What is your minimum quantity to order for this event? Thanks ...
