School Lunches in France[Video] - Page 2

the way they showed in the video could cost $5-10 a head in America, using far lesser ingredients/having a larger body of students to feed. People don't want to do that. Running a non-profit restaurant inside of a school makes sure the kids get fed well for a reasonable price, but Americans are cool with 4 out of 5 things on the tray (including the milk) to be deep-fried.

Certainly seems that way. If I had children I would do my best to make sure they never had to eat any of the stuff served at the public schools across America

I'm very impressed, especially with the second Chef feeding the children for around 2.50/plate.

That was inspiring.

I went to a small public school in district in NY while growing up. Every day we had cooked vegetables, one hot main course like spaghetti and meatballs, meat loaf, baked fish, hamburgers or baked chicken plus milk (No soda, no french fries), and ice cream. We then moved to a small community in CA where all the food was either cold sandwiches from a vending machine and soda or hamburgers and french fries (luke warm bad ones and frozen malts (still like those).

I think things like good food, good roads or clean train stations seem to be whatever priority you make them.

Have you thought about running for office?

Pretty cool. Could you imagine putting escargot in front of american kids?

I think the price is hard to believe.
