Definitely go to a different hair stylist and bring a picture of what youre looking for.
Ive used the same guy for the past 6 years but when I wanted something different that required some "style" he kept giving me the exact same cut, 4 months of that and I threw in the towel on him.
A few days a go I went to a recommended hairstylist with a picture of what I was going for and the woman gave me a rundown of whether or not it would work with my hair, cut out the "bulk" but didnt cut it any shorter, and told me to leave it alone until it grows out. I actually feel like I am moving towards what im looking for as opposed to being pissed that the barber never listened to me.
Your barber wont cry too hard if you get one haircut from someone else, dont worry about his feelings so much.
