Platinum or Black Diamond Wedding Ring?

I'm getting married in a few months and I'm looking at wedding bands. I've never worn a ring before and am not too excited by the idea. Just curious to hear what you guys think of between the two rings in this picture. One is a platinum ring and the other has black diamonds across it.

Thoughts?

i think that the ring with stones is not that masculine and also you run the risk of the stones falling out. i vote for the platinum one

I am not a fan of black diamonds.

What metal is the black diamond ring?

If you don't like a plain Platinum band, as pictured ( which would be my choice ), how about a combination 18K Gold and Platinum band.

Second on the plain band. The metal doesn't matter unless it matters to your wife. Platinum, silver, titanium, white gold, tin. Just make sure she never sees it off your hand without a very good excuse.

Yes, just plain platinum with no window dressing. When I was in the market for a wedding band years ago I started to look at other types...different designs. On the advice of many, I went with a simple band. So glad I did. That is until my bitch of a now ex-wife took me for everything. KIDDING, we did divorce but amicably
get a simple wedding band in platinum

funny, she doesn't want just a plain gold band.

I've been talking with her about not getting one at all and instead getting a really nice watch (something that I would really like to wear), just curious how many of you did something like this?

That sounds like a REALLY bad idea. A watch is a wonderful wedding present, but does not take the place of a wedding ring. It's not the money -- it's whether she wants you to wear a ring, and whether you want to wear a ring, and how the two of you sort that out.
