hi all,

i'm a college senior and am going to a club tonight for the first time, in NYC. what should i wear? i've got a varied wardrobe so pretty much anything is an option. am i right in saying that college students don't usually go to these clubs? if so, do i have a chance at getting in, and how should i dress?

thanks everyone

You are going to need A LOT more help than what to wear, if as a college senior you do not know what to wear to a club.

A NYC club is just another club, it's not extra special or extraordinary because of location.

I am always hesitant about wearing nice clothes and shoes to night club at the risk of them being ruined by some a=hole with cigarette or alcohol. Shoes will be stepped over for sure...

At the same time you dont want to look like a bum.

Unless you plan to just stand on the side, in which case you can dress better, wear a white collared shirt with slim dark jeans and a nice belt and black or brown leather shoes. Don't wear your favorite shirt as people will likely splash drinks on you at some point during the night. Don't wear good shoes as you will want to dance and people will definitely step on your feet many times. Do wear leather shoes as they might not let you in with sneakers. You could wear a navy jacket/blazer, but if you're planning to really dance, I probably wouldn't, or at least not one you care about.
