Have been offered a 3.2 litre Porsche Boxster S from 2002 with 75,000 miles.
Complete service history, winter tires, hardtop, leather etc.

Besides, that this car is called the Housewife's Porsche it is black and comes with tiptronic, which both I dont like.

Would be my first Porsche and I always thought on a 911 from 1978 - 98, this would have been my choice.

Appreciate any suggestions, experiences and life in general.

Thanks.

The Boxster S is nice, the Tiptronic isn't. I'd pass unless you get a REALLY good deal.

The water-cooled Boxster is a much different animal than the various air-cooled 911 models from 1978 through 1998. Having driven a friend’s tiptronic Boxster S and being thoroughly unimpressed with the transmission's operation, I can understand the term “Housewife’s Porsche.”

Recently, I drove a new Cayman for the second time. Although I remain truly impressed . . . I really think my next acquisition will be a later 993. To me the last of the air-cooled cars has a certain seductive cachet I don't find in the other cars.

Dear Full Canvas,

I really appreciate all your posts on cars. What you have experienced throughout the years is an automobile enthusiasts dream. Great stuff.

As I said, i didn't consider to buy a Boxster. One has been offered to me at a real good price.

For me the 993 is one of the nicest looking 911, except the Vintages.

Probably it should become my second 911.
