I like rabbit braised with mustard, shallots, white wine, and thyme. With just a little cream. Lots of mustard.

Rack of Lamb (prepared using an old Julia Child recipe with a few twists/additions)
Nutted Wild Rice (from the Silver Palate Cookbook)

The second recipe in this article gives a good idea of what I'm talking about:

I seem to recall the Patricia Wells recipe calling for a full cup of mustard, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks for the link; that recipe looks just like something I'd enjoy. As it will be my first time cooking rabbit, is there anything in particular I should be concerned with? I just have to now actually locate a rabbit to cook; I'll check the Farmers' markets this week.

All I have to do is show up. Whatever is being served will be good, I hope.

Would it be a cliché to serve carrots with a rabbit?

If any of you planning on serving rabbit have a child attending, then SHAME ON YOU.

Why, because it might upset the children if they're eating Bugs Bunny? I suppose one should not serve venison to a child, because they might be eating Bambi? I often see children eating rabbit and they think nothing of it. It's just a source of meat, like they eat sheep, cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, camels, etc.
