Cost to essentially completely re-tailor a suit jacket

First post, just wanted to get a ballpark estimate for a tailor to rehaul and essentially rebuild a suit jacket I have. It's an older Theory 40R jacket that I had tailored to fit my slim 37-38s frame. However, my tastes have changed an I literally want it to have the feel/cut of my RLBL 38r but I do like the light fabric.

Any idea how much this would cost or should i simply scrap it find a new suit.

Thanks SF!

scrap it, theory is not good enough quality to spend the $$$

Agree with the above. Don't bother. It's not worth the cost to essentially remake a jacket for a Theory suit. Based on the local prices, I'd peg it at around $300 depending on what needed to be done.

New suit. Tailor will cost as much to do what you want.

I purchased a bespoke suit (for someone else obviously) from ebay for $390. I thought, and still think, it ended up being a good deal; however, I knew I would have to do alterations. I expected to shorten sleeves from the shoulder, cuff the pants to correct length, and let in/out waist. When I got it, and talked it over with alterations tailor, I did the following: 1) shorten sleeves from the shoulder 2) cuff pants to correct length 3) take in jacket waist 4) move jacket button point 5) take approximately an inch off the bottom of the suit jacket to shorten it 1-4 was expected or understood to be possibly necessary, so I took that in stride. But number 5 really scared me. I had recently seen posts about shortening jacket lengths and how it could really mess up the pocket/button/stance/overall proportion of the jacket. All in all, I spent more on alterations than the actual suit--another $400 on alterations, and I'm very happy with it. But I'm about to take pictures of the fit of the suit and post it up soon. I'm going to ask for nitpicks, and then we'll see how I feel after that.....
