weed killers

So I've been neglecting my lawn and it's getting overrun with what I think is milkweed. Anyone had any luck with commercial weed killers? I was pulling them out but it's just a huge job and even if a weed killer took out half of them it would save me a day of work.

I've been using a few different selective broadleaf herbicides this season with varying results. I used Spectracide, which did a great job on the dandelions and clover in my hard. I've recently been using Trimec. Same basic active ingredients. Don't know if it works on milkweed, though. I noticed today that my local nursery sells the active ingredient in a 42% concentrate for a fairly low price, which would be great.

Use a weed and feed fertilizer, most of them use 2,4-D was the AI. Use it early in the morning when there is dew, or just after a rainfall, you want the granules to stick to the leaves of the weeds. Otherwise, spray your lawn w/ water before you apply - just need to get it wet. You want the granules to stick to the leaves for at least 24 hours, so don't apply it if rain is expected shortly thereafter.

BTW, do NOT use Round-Up (AI glyphosate), it will also kill your grass.
