i've used my elba gas range for 6 years straight without complaint.

I have a 30-inch Viking gas/gas. Four burners (16,000 BTU) with a (no-heat) grill in the middle.
Also has an awesome "infrared" broiler in the oven. Convection too.

Don't know what the pros say, but the Viking has made me a better cook, made me enjoy cooking more, and it looks great too.

No problems in five years.

[With regard to Consumer Reports, mine was the highest rated in one of their articles and, shortly thereafter, one of the bottom-rated ones, so read those with a big grain of salt.]

Those infrared broilers look sweet. I'm definitely going with Viking or Thermador. The wait is going to suck but it will be worth it in the end.
