Kesha without autotune - Page 2

I imagine I won't be taken very seriously here, especially since Conne has accused me of being a contrarian-for-the-sake-of-being-a-contrarian, but here goes anyway...

I didn't think she was actually that bad. We're hearing a board recording where the instrumentals are pushed into the background of the mix and her voice is pushed way up front. The sound of everybody's voice suffers when the backing tracks aren't there to mask the imperfections of their singing. Also, keep in mind that she was most likely already several songs deep into a setlist that had her gamboling about the stage the entire time.

Just sounds like someone doing badly at KTV. Who is Kesha anyway?

Makes me just want to turn my iPod up a little louder and listen to more Watain. At least Scandinavian death metal by practicing Satanists won't get co-opted by corporations looking to make a buck. I somehow doubt I will ever hear a Ghost song used in a Pringles commercial...

A local DJ actually found someone on youtube who recorded his dog using autotune. The DJ alternated clips of the dog/autotune with Kesha/autotune. Although Kesha's track didn't include someone in the background periodically saying "Good girl....goood girl", Kesha really is that bad.

Whatever you want to say about her radio hits, at least she's not Lady Gaga.

But I don't get how she got signed. She seems to have no ability to sing or write songs, and she's not stunningly gorgeous. Where did she come from to get a big record deal?
