friend of mine's got a 2010 shelby (and a 911 gt). almost every sunday he joins a meet-up/run with fellow supercar enthusiasts and he says the shelby grabs more attention than any european car there.

Wish it had IRS.

You hear this often, but people fail to understand that Ford has done an amazing job of taming the live axle. I owned a 03' Cobra (my reason I'm such a Stang lover), and though it had IRS, there were still a number of people who chose to switch the IRS out for a live axle, admittedly most were guys who prefer the drag strip.

I don't quite understand why Ford still prefers the Live rear end, yet after hearing what the 5.0's and Boss's are capable of with the track pack, I'm not sure I'm even too considered.

I've heard them say they keep the live axle because so many people that buy the Stang, put some sort of power upgrade on and it's just cheap insurance to use it.

There's a degree of truth to that. When Ford experimented with IRS in the last past generation Cobra, there were still a number of guys who chose to switch to the live axle. There were a number of modified cars blowing half shafts.
