Speaking of thinner socks, anyone have any recs? I have always used Pantharella as my thin socks, as I have found Marcoliani to be entirely too thick, but I would be open to more ideas.
I tried a few pairs from a French company; Mes Chaussettes Rouge The cotton ones are really slim, almost see through. http://en.meschaussettesrouges.com/

Come by Hans Allde on May 5th if you're in town then, we're hosting a Gaziano & Girling Trunk Show (Tony and Dean won't be there though, just us lowly agents ).
luk-cha
what an outporing! It is a joy to see G&G's shoes, don't know if these are bespoke or Decco style. But it doesnt't matter becasue first impression is bespoke. The craftmanship is absolutely stunning.

Thanks for the kind invitation, but I’m only hitting town on May 17th. Unless your
trunk show gets extended “due to unprecedented demand”, I will have missed it.
WOW. That's craftsmanship. Wounder how many different skins they had to go through before they found one acceptable.
Probably, they would have needed two skins (one for each shoe).
For the skins to have their markings very similar to each other, they would have
to come from the same litter: so, left and right shoes are actually siblings.
Farms, tanneries and wholesalers will take great care to keep the matching skins in batches together.
So I went by the G&G trunk show at Despos in Dallas today. Got to meet Mr. Despos and chat with Mr. Girling which was very nice - as were both Mr.Despos and Mr. Girling. Learned a lot about G&G and their process. Very cool to get to meet and do business with both of them. That's probably not what you guys want to know, is it though? You want to see what's beneath the cut (Because other wise the page would never load). Well...
The Deco range as laid out:
The trunk:
Top Row: MTO, Middle Row: Bespoke, Bottom Row: RTW

Some close ups:
Mr. Girling sizing me up (I'm proud to say I now know that I'm an 8D - Which was also the size of the demo shoes, so I got to learn about their fit and see what they look like on my feet!)
What everyone's been waiting for (It seems like): Shots of the some Decos actually on a foot!
