That´s the set up i´m thinking of doing, with storm welt and lined shaft.

Exactly what is the Wensum sole. I see it on the custom order page but am wondering what it is.

I am too. I emailed Nick but no response most likely because of the spam filter. Looks like a non-leather sole that better approximates a single leather sole better than Dainite or micro?

It is a thinner rubber sole. Provides insulation and traction while maintaining a dressier more elegant look that a chunckyier Dainite sole.
Personally, I would use it on dress shoes (osxford, monks, derbys), not boots.

So in terms of boots, would you choose Dainite over micro? also, where do you see the micro sole being best used? Any difference in wet/snow but not icy conditions?

Dainite for harsher conditions and more casual boots. Micro otherwise. They both offer good traction and wet insulation, but I think with dressier shoes you should keep them from becoming too casual looking by adding additional weight and heft to them. Leave those option for boots.

Thank you - that is more or less what it looked to be. But my search of the interwebz didn't generate any detailed information.

Makes sense. I have no experience with micro soles. I want to do 2 MTO's for boots to get me through winter and was looking at the Canterbury and Thorpe. What do you think: Canterbury on micro and Thorpe on Dainite?

I've seen a Caterbury on Dainite on Nick's tumblr that is out of this world. He even had it made in Burgundy Sell Cordovan. That would be my first choice.

Burgundy I could go for. Have never had cordovan because I have never really liked the way it looks.

IMHO, when Shell Codovan looks like this, you ought to consider it. This is my next boot.
