I have those in oxfords and i love them. Was considering the Carmina in order to have a different shade but the Lindricks boots are sitting in my RL shopping cart. I've been trying to get someone to compare the quality of the Carmina to the Lindricks as I can't see the Carminas without ordering them but so far, no bites.

Like I said, Carmina is not very accessible in the US and very few peopel have them or see them. I am familiar with them, but never bought a pair.
I like the quality of the Lindrick and I know C&J siezes are true. I heard Carmina size are very different for different lats.

Im a big fan of Carminas, but Ive got no shell or boots from them to offer a valid comparison to the Lindricks I also own - though I will say the quality to me is pretty much even. Lindricks are a C&J make, and thats what Carmina is offering. But, lets keep the thread to G&G.

For what its worth, I did a comparison a few months back of Carmina and C&J split toe loafers - I know its not the Lindrick or Darlton versus comparable Carmina model, but I was surprised at how the Carmina shoe more than held its own. I'm a big C&J fan, but truthfully, the C&J did not compare favorably. In terms of the shell, I liked C&J's whiskey color better, but Carmina's burdios was also very nice. In terms of construction, this is where Carmina seemed to outpace the C&J model. Closed-channel soles, a much more bevelled waist, and the stitching on Carmina's uppers seemed cleaner as well. Finally, Carmina's Forest last was much more elegant/refined than C&J's 325.

However, please take all of this with more than just a grain of salt - I've never been a big fan of the Darlton, and I find the Lindrick aesthetically displeasing.

Great feedback. I went ahead and ordered the grey suede boots as I want the full saddle or nave boots--either of which I would have to order MTM. Grey suede will have to work for this fall .

I will let you know how the quality/fit compares to C&J--especially since I have the C&J for BB cordovan boot (which I love).

I would get the G&G if I have to pick. However, Getting the Carmina would save you few hundred dollars, something like $500-$800 over EG/GG.
I am not familiar with Carmina (I know about them), but they do not have shoes in my size and it is tough to see one in person in the US. Epaulet .com has some shell boots that look really nice.

This should be in the Carmina thread; but we'll carry some models in UK 12, but you're a 12.5 right?
