But, I might be able to justify 400-500 USD, do you guys have any suggestions?

Haven't taken the G&G plunge (yet) but I do admit I have 1 pair of AE left shog[1].gif They are a pair of burgundy shell Cambridge shoes. Personally I think it's more important to find a last that compliments your foot, regardless of price.

4x a month? Don't feel too bad. I have a great pair of white/tan AS specs that I probably wear 4x a year.

What size are these? Were they the same size as your Wigmore's which you had fit issues with?

"Rotation" is a bit excessive. Ive worn them 3x total in a year. smile.gif

No no, pointed style shoes have been fashionable for centuries already, and they will remain fashionable for whole lot longer yet.

Some people prefer pointed shoes as an expression of their taste and sense of style, others use pointed shoes for no reason other than to "scare the straights" who think "pointed" shoes are not fashionable.

This line of discussion is confusing me a bit. While I'm not a big fan of the Deco last, I wouldn't consider the DG70 or the MH71 to be particularly pointy.

Elongated footwear in a 1912 drawing (thanks Sator)

Boots (obviously bespoke) made for Gabriele d'Annunzio (1863 - 1938), probably about the same time.

I'm just not sure what you mean by pointy. The Deco last is a bit pointy, sure, but the rest of the G&G lasts are very balanced looking to my eye. Are you put off by the elongated toe box? The G&G lasts may be a bit longer than other English lasts, but not to the point I'd call them pointy or "trendy."
