Gaziano & Girling Appreciation & Shoe Appreciation Thread (including reviews, purchases, pictures, etc...) - Page 1427

I think I'm settling on an idea for an MTO

-St James II (old style)

-Pearl grey modified to be on the 'warm grey' end of things (Browns and beiges vs blues and purples in the mottling)

-Heavy burnishing to almost black on the toe cap and heel counters, for a semi-spectator vibe

Done on MH71 or TG73, still not sure which.

Thoughts?

Either'd be a fantastic makeup. But the MTO surcharge waiver doesn't apply to the Holden, only its non-deco equivalent (the Oxford).

Is anyone else thinking of going for the limited edition Savile?
So pleased to see G&G doing an apron stitch single monk but I need to see the colour in person.

I am.

Any idea of price? I've not seen it mentioned anywhere.

I sent an email to the sales address asking for a quote with toe taps added yesterday afternoon. Will let you know when I hear.
Only pics I've seen of it are below but judging by the first picture, I'm not sure if the colouring will be 'too blue' when in the light for my taste. Still, only opportunity to get this model unless I went bespoke.

Muchas gracias.

I emailed that them at that address during the Brexit sale, and didn't receive a reply, which I found both unusual and irksome.

Is the Savile made to a higher spec, or does it just include bespoke accessories (box, bags, trees)?

Wait, so you're saying it will be handlasted like a bespoke model, but on a RTW last? That is pretty amazing.

It is a beautiful shoe in real life - the pictures are representative, but having seen and handled them in person, I have to say they are pretty sweet. And that's coming from someone whose personal taste doesn't align to that style of shoe.
