I don't wear well-made boots very often, but I find that "speed hooks" add a ridiculous amount of time to getting shod.

Is there a difference between Oak and Vintage Oak?

I felt the same way too but that @stevent guy kept insisting that I give it a try.

Now I remember that I said I will go with what majority decides.

That's how I'd do it, given the choice.  Wouldn't be a deal-breaker though.

I've been dreaming of other spectator combinations to add to this one - one spectator is just not enough.

Awesome as ever, @grc1! Agreed that you need more spectators, I have two Walktons myself, and am dreaming of a Vintage Rioja-Burgundy suede combo (maybe another Walkton, perhaps a Gatsby, or some other wingtip setup). Question about your Gatsbys - will you wear these in cooler weather also?

Oh God - there's a sartorial edict about no spectators after Labor Day or something, isn't there? I'll start following it the year I start wearing seersucker. wink.gif

Oh, that rule applies to spectators with white only.

@grc1 if those are wrong, we should have no desire to be right :slayer:

Hahaha, I actually wear my two Walktons all year long. I was wondering if grc1 would view the colors in his Gatsby pair as four-season, or only warmer temperatures. Just filing some ideas in my head, and wouldn't mind additional input...

Then again, if I do end up getting another pair of G&G spectators in V-Rioja/Burgundy Suede, those would be year-rounders too smile.gif

What about a kudu/calf or a grain/calf spectator? The SJII with rosewood/cherry calf is spectacular IMO. Personally, a suede/calf spectator would be 'too loud' for me. What do you gents think?

Got both those versions of G&G Walkton Spectators (Chestnut Pin Grain/Vintage Cherry, Vintage Cherry/Cherry Kudu). Love 'em. Wear them year round, pair 'em with suits/odd jackets/casual pants/occasionally jeans smile.gif

Still need a leather suede version myself...

Here's to spectators year-round, brown shoes in town, and red socks on any day of the week. cheers.gif

Now my only question is... how many Thorpes are too many Thorpes?
