PSA - G&G shoes for sub $500 on DSW website. With coupons you can get them even lower. Under RL label. See links below. In return for this PSA can I ask you gents for some sizing help on the boot in cognac? What last is it? I am solidly an 8/8.5 in all EG lasts (I own 202, 888, 82, 89 and 606). This would be my first pair of G&G - trying to decide between 8.5 and 9 which they say is the US size. Note that I did try on the Narvell in suede once at the mansion - an 8.5 US was too narrow for me, but 9 worked. Whatever that last was was very narrow. Thanks for any advice you can give.

It looks to be the TG73 last, the same as the Narvell. I would probably say go with 9, but you may want to wait for more experienced members to chime in.

Also, DSW has a pretty decent return policy. If you can, buy both and return the one that doesn't work.

I ordered a few of these a couple days ago that should be arriving today. The boot sure looks to be on the TG73 which is same as the Narvell, I believe.

Thanks. I went with the 9's. I didn't want to deal with returning one and I distinctly remember that last being narrow (more narrow than any EG's I have). They should work based upon my prior trying on experience. I just needed to know the last was the same which you guys kindly confirmed. I see some of the stock has gone down. I'm sure to other SF members. Enjoy.

Thanks for the PSA. I grabbed a pair of those boots in size 9 as well, since I've always had a pair of "George Boots" in the back of my mind as something I'm interested in. They look like TG73 last which I have a pair of in UK8.5E. Hopefully the sizing is consistent. If they don't work out, I can run them to a DSW store that's about 5 minutes from work to return so not a ton of risk.

In my experience RL G&G and EG run narrow b/c they often order D width which in the UK is narrow. Not sure why they do that. Talked to the folks at EG in London and they don't get it either.

I'll confirm that. The G&G for RL that's marked "D" is UK D (having tried their TG73 "D" and own several EG73 in UK "E")

If that's the case, I guess I'll be bringing the boots right over to DSW after trying them on, since the UK E-width G&G's fits me almost perfectly. It might actually be the preferable outcome, since I wasn't exactly planning to buy any shoes when the day started. :p
