Gaziano & Girling Appreciation & Shoe Appreciation Thread (including reviews, purchases, pictures, etc...) - Page 1392

Just took delivery of my first MTO G&G. I had to get a wide size, so there was a bit of risk which I tried to mitigate by getting a plain-toed derby. As it happens, it is still a shade tight and hard to get into without trees. Low, graceful toes don't always like high insteps. And the quarters aren't quite parallel yet. But it is suede, so there is room to stretch. And the polo suede is actually less red than I'd feared. I'd been kicking myself for letting the sales guy talk me into that flavor.

Anyway, we'll see. EG doesn't have quite the glamour of G&G as far as finishing, etc., goes, but they have a couple of lasts I know work for me. And there is always bespoke-- worth considering when closets are full and lives are short.

Y'all make me want to buy a pair of shoes from the brexit sale. When does it end?

Does anyone have a G&G belt? How is the quality and have you been happy with it?

I have two G&G belts - Vintage Cherry and Black. Very good quality in my opinion. Nice finished edges and the buckles are extremely tactile and hefty with nice smooth edges.

The colour match on the cherry isn't fantastic but other than that I find them to be as good as my EG belt.

Excellent. Do you think they run true to size?

They do, yes.

My G&G 34 is the same size as my EG 34 but I take the black in 32 because I (intentionally) lost weight between buying my St James II and my Holdens. They have five holes and the measurement is taken to the middle one.
