I just ordered my first G&G's...St James II. I have followed this thread for a while and the "Brexit sale" pushed me over the edge. I hope they fit!

First pair of G&G. Probably won't be the last. My god these are beautiful shoes. Rothschild in Vintage Rioja on TG73.

Very nice choice for a first G&G - congrats! Awesome colour and burnishing on the toe too

You are not alone in your frustration - Lord knows a broader stock range would have saved me much aggravation and ££'s. But there isn't, so we each have to choose how we deal, whether to take a chance or go to another maker with a wider scope. It sounds like you've made the latter choice, a perfectly reasonable path to take based on your personal risk profile. Wear your shoes in good health. cheers.gif

@grc1 What last are the suede Burnham's on? Please say Deco...

It's good. Went with 7.5F on these. I was worried they'd be too short, but they fit very well. And the heel width is good - no heel slip.

I know most or all of your shoes are on the deco last, but how do you find the Deco for your Burnhams in comparison to your other models? I have St James ii on the Deco last but I don't know if the Deco last would take the Burnham's 'out of balance' if that makes sense, and you can't see it in person because they don't have an example in store! Looks incredible in photos however...

Personally, I think the deco last is optimal for formal styles - i.e., oxfords. Having bought the Burnham in deco and subsequently tried it on in TG73 and MH71, I think the chelsea boot aesthetic works better on the non-deco lasts. It's all subjective, of course, but if I had to try to compare them I'd say a deco Burnham is 90% on target versus a TG73 95% and MH71 97% - in other words, they're all pretty damn close to ideal and are all stunning in pictures or on the shelf, but for me there's still a very small something that I have a hard time articulating that prevents me from falling completely head-over-heels in love when they're on my feet. Whereas you give me a pair of Holdens or Gatsbys and it's non-stop infatuation. inlove.gif

I think that my 100% shoe would be Sinatra in Deco or Bowlly, but I haven't seen them IRL.
