I am looking forward to my Arran MTO in Chestnut Kudo Deco last smile.gif and should be ready by early September.

I have found Vass makes a few attractive shoes or boots that appeal to me but I can't quite recall what their Chukkas looks like. There are however a couple of things that keep me from buying anymore shoes or boots from Vass..Their problematic sizing and varying different sizes for the same Last same size that I read about, quality issues that seem to appear for time to time (Vass'' Character) and the lack of antiquing I've become accustomed too with Edward Green and Gaziano and Girling.

You are very correct vass quality ratio is crazy good & have dam high in steps which can be good or bad depending upon person feet. After owning couple of pairs of vass I am also just sticking to what works for me. Gg, eg & stcrispin.

I fixed the high Instep issue of my two Vass pairs.
I asked my local cobbler in NYC i.e. B. Nelson to put tongue padding inside the tongue to make it thicker and restiched the tongue back. It has solved the issue and fit is snug now smile.gif

Those are my personal faves.  Do seriously want an Arran though - maybe vintage cherry and kill two birds.  Vass chukkas are excellent bang for the buck - my green museum pair have served me very well.

Got a call from my back alley guy today saying the merchandise was ready for pick-up...After the exchange of hard cash, I took a long sniff...but it wasn't enough...& I couldn't make it out of the shop without being able to feel it down to my toes ....

.

Toe taps installed...The maiden voyage of my Wigmore's was a complete success (by which I mean I avoided having anyone step on me...I already knew they fit...lol)...and yes...the guy I use is actually located in a back alley....

What happened with your Wigmore's? Didn't you pick those up from Dean himself?
