Just went to Leffot today to try the MH71 in 10E again. The issue with the toe area, particularly on the left shoe, is still there. My pinky toe is being squished a tad. I tried on a EG Shannon off of the display and it was notably roomier. The G&G's are not a bad fitting shoe, just more fitted.
The dilemma now is, can I trust Dean Girling's "easing of the fore foot?". This is noted on my invoice. There are no dimensions, has anyone had G&G do this for their MTO order? I just want to be sure I am not getting a $1800 pair of shoes I will always avoid wearing due to fit issues. I did the MTO order at the NYC trunk show yesterday specifically to allow for last adjustments.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
I think you would want to try an F fitting and see how it fits - if it is clearly too wide, then the E theoretically is the right width, but you could be in-between. I don't see why the forefoot would ease - maybe the insole gives in a little, but if your toe is squeezed, this won't improve - IMHO. The reverse could be asked of Dean`s opinion - if the forefoot eases on a perfectly fitting shoe, it would then be too large, right!? So, no, easing is not a valid reason to hope a shoe will fit. $1800 is a very large amount of money. Save it up, and get something that fits. I`m sure they would prefer a happy customer than a dissatisfied customer.
