Update on GMTO for G&G Thorpe F-width

This is who we have so far

A) Thorpe in Vintage Oak
@shaggycalf - F
@RogerP - F (would also consider option B)
@Steel28 - E/F borderline
@Faster - F (equal interest in option B)

@Leaves - F

@ZCHLOi - F

B) Thorpe in Green Hatch
@Faster - F (equal interest in option A)
@lartiste - F
@RogerP - F (would also consider option A)

@stevent - F

I personally really want to make the Hatch racing green happen because It will likely never happen again, I think it would look great in this hatch and make up.. and because I already have a few brown boots.

We have until end of the month before next GG price increase.

As for the rest of the details, here is what I think would please most but I'm open:

•Gaziano & Girling Thorpe

•MH71 last in F-width (only one width allowed for GMTOs)
•Dainite without storm welt, natural edge?  (Personally I think leather soles would look great but doubt I can get everyone in on this)

•Standard lining
•Blind eyelets - no speed hooks

Do these make sense? @Leaves

^^ I'm launching the Vintage Oak GMTO on our site tomorrow. If we are ever gonna have a chance to beat the price increase we need to act fast.

The most sensible make up IMHO is
MH71
Blind Eyelets + Speed Hooks
No storm welt (as its plain calf)
Dainite sole with a thin midsole

It will be a sweet make up and we'll finally have our F-width GMTO after almost two months of trying to get people to rally around one style.

I will support the Racing Green Hatch as much as I can but I just can't order a pair for myself.

This sounds like extremely versatile and elegant makeup without storm welt. Boom!

For the racing green I'm open to all soles and eyelet / speedhooks people want. Natural edge I'm iffy on as green is pretty dark. Just want boot made so willing to compromise though

Lovely!

I had to ask, because I (a) have never seen vintage cherry in the flesh, and (b) the color looks different in each and every darn photograph!

If it looks like that picture, then I am verrrry excited smile.gif.

I would suggest the Wensum sole, much better grip than Dainite. A great rubber sole for a dressier option, which I guess this will be with the single sole, no stormwelt, and smooth calfskin. Might have to get in on this one...

I might be in for this tentative on whether or not a couple of things I have for sale end up getting sold.

Thanks @Leaves!

Was hoping for no speed hooks, I just think the Thorpe looks so nice and clean without these.....   But whatever it takes I guess. Good either way.
