Gotta get me some of those !

There is just something about RG (especially in the Deco) that is so unconventional but captivating.

Goes well with grey suit and a Turnbull and Asser green tie.

Do this. From personal experience, racing green Strand on the deco last is full of win. You won't be disappointed!

Are those two in the TG73 last?

If I'm correct in surmising that these are shots from their Savile Row store, then the vintage rioja Warwick is on deco, having bought that pair myself (surprise surprise):

I'd surmise that the St.James is on the TG73, though the difference from that angle is hard to see, so I could be wrong. Nick's G&G MTO blog has good comparisons here: TG73 (Click to show)
Deco last (Click to show)

Anyone else feel underwhelmed by the GG Glencoe? Now I haven't looked closely at the specs but they look like an especially well finished CJ Coniston boot to my untrained eyes. But at almost twice the cost. I'd be hard pressed buying that Glencoe with so many sexy boot alternatives available from GG and EG.

IMO this model was created to compete with the EG Galway, which makes sense to me. At first, I thought they were going to make a competing model using the open-laced Wigmore pattern from the boot they made me a while back. It looks like they might have decided against that, and went this route instead...

Namor,

this is my pair and I have two Conistons so I know what you mean. 99.99% of people will not be able to tell the difference. The only difference that I can tell is that GG06 toe is dressier than toe on 325 last. However Glencoe can be made on any of G&G lasts and construction is definitely better.

What happened to all the GMTO action? What's next?

I did initially, after all it's just another cap toe boot and it's not like it's the iconic Galway. I have to say however after looking at it a bit more I think the Last and the combination of the grain that was chosen certainly makes it look like a pretty sweet boot. Whether that's enough to make me get one or not, I'm not certain at this time. However If I were just starting out and I didn't have as many boots as I currently have, yeah then I think I might be more likely to get one.

I think you need to dig up some unique or exotic leather to motivate the troops.

What happened to the Russian reindeer?

I would go for a St James in suede.

I would probably want it on the MH71, but I would want to wait to receive my first St James first before committing. Hopefully that will only be a couple of weeks at the most.
