@TtownMD

I also spoke to Tim about the special make-up of the Tavistock in some brown shade of calf with a brown gator strap on the Deco last, that you and I had already discussed. Nick already told me that he is working on that one for us because it is very different from a normal MTO and he will get back to me so we can process it at the beginning of the new year and give others the chance to jump in on it with us.
This works and give other ppl a chance & thank you once again biggrin.gif

no problem at all!

As i keep saying we are all a team on here so it is best to wait for others! I don't mind doing some of the leg work when it will help us all out.

This is true, Nick has done me many favors in the past. The varied payment options was his idea as well, so that is also nice to see carried over. Good luck to Nick at GG...

And maybe he would be able to work something out for GMTO again and to allow more than one width after the 6 have been ordered in one width, like it used to be. That would be amazing for all of us wide and narrow folks.

It's hard to say, because I think the fact that some vendors had preferential treatment or were treated with exception went a long way in a lot of the the policy changes that have come about recently.

If GG made an exception for Nick (themselves essentially), it would undermine the efforts of other vendors like Skoak that have been told otherwise.

Such things would only be possible in secret I suppose, and even then there is the ever looming ethical issue.

I'm just glad that GG has introduced some flexibility in their RTW stock sizing. A nice gesture IMO...

What kind of varied payment options are you talking about?

Are they published somewhere on his website?

This is G&G installment plan for shoes that he is talking about.

Plan 1) Full Payment in advance: With changing currency rates some clients may wish to take advantage of a good exchange rate at the time of order.
Plan 2) 50 / 50 Payment Plan: 50% Deposit on order and 50% final payment on completion. *PayPal or Cards can be used for this plan.
Plan 3) Monthly Payment Plan: 3 equal payments spread over a 3 month period. *PayPal account is necessary for this plan.
If there is another method of payment you wish to use please let us know and we will happily look at this for you and hopefully accommodate your requests.

Ok, pretty standard fair with the exception of option 3. I've never purchased directly from G&G, but then again I have very few G&G shoes and boot. Don't forget the Boot. LOL

yes that is true but Nick does work for GG and he is listed on their site as the contact when someone has questions about RTW or MTO. That makes me think that they would still be opened to some type of special deals for people dealing directly through them so they get much higher profit margins.

regardless, i guess we will just have to see what options arise and then go from there. it is nice at one their site, for any of the RTW shoes that they offer directly, you can also get a D or F width for the same price and just have to wait 6-8 weeks. That is very fair and is a nice plus for many different people who are of those sizes too. unfortunately i'm still out of the range but they may still work something out for the outlier, especially with how many pairs i buy. lol

exactly but that is a nice option for some people. i have ordered a few pairs from them before and I dealt with Nick. service is top notch, like skoak, but i have to say regardless, that i love dealing with skoak more than any place because they have multiple brands, are the most attentive and knowledgable.

haha. i just knew that the BOOT was going to come up.

In my opinion it's the bolded section that set Skoak apart and

Not only are they typically so quick getting back with you, it's the fact that Patrick answers and enlightens us to what is going on here on the forum. It's kind of like bringing the shop to those of us here who are unable to actually visit his store.

Don't forget the special make ups one isn't normally going to find. Zug, Willow, Kudu, and etc etc.........

same here. i'm good with half down and half at delivery, but i see that it could be a good option for some people who are stepping up for the first time.
