Does anyone know if you put flush toe taps on independently if GG will still repair the soles later on?

How very accommodating, G&G  :D

haha payment plans? that would really make us all do even more purchasing and just figure to pay a set monthly payment for the rest of our lives.

Oh and I was at the G& G trunk show in Philly at ToBox last night. It was a great event and Tim, the rep, brought a ton of swatches. I looked at how lift the midnight blue can be so he said that we can get the standard midnight blue with only a little burnishing but get a feeling burnish in the toe and heel where the stitching lifts on the Gable so it would not look like the shade of your St. Crispins but would not look just like the normal midnight blue either.

It seems like it will be truly amazing and if others don't want in on it I'm going to do a single MTO. I need it after getting this idea and really working through it with the swatches and discussing burnishing levels.

They have a link to Bespoke England's MTO page right from their own site...BE is part of G&G now right?

wow you're right. here is what comes up on the link:

Our new payment plan can help spread the cost of your Made to Order shoes. You now have the new option to pay monthly whilst you wait for your shoes. We have 3 different payment plans:

  • Plan 1) Full Payment in advance: With changing currency rates some clients may wish to take advantage of a good exchange rate at the time of order.
  • Plan 2) 50 / 50 Payment Plan: 50% Deposit on order and 50% final payment on completion. *PayPal or Cards can be used for this plan.
  • Plan 3) Monthly Payment Plan: 3 equal payments spread over a 3 month period. *PayPal account is necessary for this plan.

If there is another method of payment you wish to use please let us know and we will happily look at this for you and hopefully accommodate your requests.

Of course, the full payment vs the standard 50/50 is expected for MTO, but splitting it into 3 months is quite interesting.

I still haven't heard back from Nick at Bespoke England. He is right though G & G.

I talked about this current option with Tim who is a rep from G & G, who I met at ToBox in Philly. This is where I am leaning for this pair if I do a single MTO and if it would just be the two of us, he could definitely do it for you as well.

I also am always opened to Skoak, because I get most of my shoes from them anyway.

I would think cost would be around $1300-$1400 because just by looking at Skoak online, a stock Gable is $1110 and the MTO fee is $235 so about $1345 or so.

Well let me know the price & what he is asking but if it's around any other G&G shoes I am game if he can add me that would be nice. And if it's not possible not a problem.

Nick works directly with GG now. He can sometimes get special stuff done.

It seems like the pricing will be the same regardless so if that pricing works for you, then I can just let him know and he can contact you for payment info. You can PM me contact info or I can give you his info so you can contact him.

I would think cost would be around $1300-$1400 because just by looking at Skoak online, a stock Gable is $1110 and the MTO fee is $235 so about $1345 or so before shoe trees, but I always get shoe trees for the best fit on my unusual size.

I was hoping to see if anyone else on SF was interested so we should give it a day or so to see what happens.

Yea and from what Tim told me, they both work together. Tim said that he basically just covers the US MTOs and said that either one of them (Tim or Nick) can get us special makeups as well. So I'm opened to either.

@TtownMD

I also spoke to Tim about the special make-up of the Tavistock in some brown shade of calf with a brown gator strap on the Deco last, that you and I had already discussed. Nick already told me that he is working on that one for us because it is very different from a normal MTO and he will get back to me so we can process it at the beginning of the new year and give others the chance to jump in on it with us.
