no idea, but i think that they mean men with a lot of shoes and fashion (or should I say "Style") sense.

I would like to wait until after the holidays to put it through though, because i am waiting to finalize my width/size for the more narrow toed lasts first. I don't want to take a chance that a Jodhpur on the Deco  (regular on Deco last or full Deco if needed) could be either too wide or too narrow for me if I just take a shot in the dark. haha.

I love the Racing Green too. I plan on getting a pair in that sometime in the near future as well, but i want us to be able to go ahead with the Gable in Midnight blue on the TG73 last first. I know that @TtownMD is in already, but who else?

I am also interested in the GMTO of the Tavistock. It must be another attractive GMTO in sf!!

good to hear interest.

We were discussing the Tavistock in some light to medium brown (undecided as of yet) with a Gator strap in another shade of brown, possibly on the Deco last.

The difference in length between the Barclay 8 1/2E and Harrow 8 1/2E, although for the moment without having worn-in the Barclays, I feel my foot is held in the correct position and this does not compromise my toe room. The outer edge of the heels are placed on the same line, as seen from above - the difference you see at the back from above will be due to the curve of the heel cap. I aligned the outer edge of the back of the sole edge/heel on the line you see.

Are you saying there's a difference in the curvature of the heel between the two shoes?

Looking to put flush metal toe taps on my Mitchell Deco last. Do you know if this is done by a cobbler will GG still resole later? If by chance you are in London, who did you use to install them? Hunted everywhere in Budapest for a cobbler to do flush toe taps but none of them can.

I just find it odd that these two are supposed to be the same length. These are the same Last as well, correct?

Not sure if these are supposed to be same length in fact. They would be made this way I imagine. But I was surprised of the difference. No, it's the 73 and 71 lasts. Square at top and soft square below. Not sure if a slip-on or lace up had any connection to this. As I say the fits are fine though although I have not worn them in I feel that the way my foot fits is not going to be an issue.

@davevy. No I'm not focussing on the curvature, although I think it's different as the back finish is different. The Braclays have a middle stitch. What I am demonstrating is that the end of the heel is on the same line - viewed from the top it might not look like it is the case - but this may be due to the curvature.

@ddrees- reading your comment again you would think it natural that they are different? They are different lasts but I thought this was mainly the toe shape. Would a slip on and a lace up on the same last be different I wonder ?

Yeah I also thought the biggest difference was the toe shape as well. I didn't think there would be a difference in overall length. When I get a chance I'll have to take out my two pairs and see if this is the case with mine as well. I have a pair of Thorpes on the MH71 and a pair of Hayes on the TG73. I tend to find that boots have a more generous fit on the same Last for some reason but a Last should basically be the same size regardless of what shoe it is used on.

Different lasts would more likely than not have different lengths. I understand that the various G&G lasts are supposed to fit the same, so presumably the ball to heel lengths would be identical. But the toe boxes are different hence differences in overall lengths
