Where: Tobox, 25 S 19th St, Philadelphia, PA 19103

When: Fri., Oct. 2nd from 1pm - 8:30pm and Sat., Oct. 3rd from 10am - 6pm.

I'll be there from around 5pm and on. If anyone can make it, I'd love to hangout.

Hey I just saw that email from G&G too!

I was thinking of next friday after work too! I'm back in Philly next week, since the Pope will be gone, so that could be perfect for me too!

I don't know a set time yet but I would think somewhere around 4:30-6:00 PM depending on patient load for the day. That would be great to get a bunch of the local Philly area SFers to attend and meet up in person.

Are you going to let Tobox know a time and your sizing so they can have shoes in or are you just going to look at what they offer in terms of materials, etc. ?

I didn't get an email from GG....haha.

I am friends with the owner and he has been planning it for a while. Was supposed to be earlier in the year, but it got postponed.

It'll be me and another member, so the more the merrier!

Yes Tung told me a while ago as well, so thankfully it is finally going to go off.

Let's hope that other members will join us and post on here so we can try to actually meet up.

The Burnhams are mole suede. For a Chelsea boot they're pretty sharp - they're stunning in lots of ways, but perhaps too sharp in some contexts.

Were you getting all of those shoes as Deco or were some of them standard MTO but on the Deco last to save some cost?

They are all Deco standard - wasn't an option when I ordered them to do "regular" on the deco last. Would consider it in future.

So for next year we should try to get a GMTO of the Jodhpur on the Deco last! I think that would look great and I've already checked and been told that we could do a nice brown shade and have the strap be in Gator to add some great texture without raising the price too much.

I would like to wait until after the holidays to put it through though, because i am waiting to finalize my width/size for the more narrow toed lasts first. I don't want to take a chance that a Jodhpur on the Deco  (regular on Deco last or full Deco if needed) could be either too wide or too narrow for me if I just take a shot in the dark. haha.

I love the Racing Green too. I plan on getting a pair in that sometime in the near future as well, but i want us to be able to go ahead with the Gable in Midnight blue on the TG73 last first. I know that @TtownMD is in already, but who else?

Just so you know, I just called ToBox and they said that they will be having fitting shoes and a ton of sample shoes to show what they have to offer. I spoke to Tung's wife and it sounds like they will be doing some special for MTO as well, which would be great to know for anyone in the Philly area who may be considering a pair of GG.

Really?? You're gonna start that in this thread, too???

I am thinking either a Wells or a Thorpe. I wouldn't mind a wingtip, but I need to see GG's pattern in person. Has to be a derby whatever it is.

I'm really pleased with my Thorpes on the MH71.

I do kind of wish I jumped on the Kudu version, but since I have a St James and a Isham in Kudu on the way the Thorpe in Arran grain works just fine.

On the feet again:

.

What a great post and blog. Thanks

One thing that surprised me was the length of the free space at the toe, in the front of the shoe.

Is this to do with the overall proportions you want, and the fact that the shoe hugs the whole foot, and therefore won't be an issue?

That must be an inch or several centimeters of free space?

Interested to hear your comments.

Great post!

I was doing some research about ToBox and came across this description:

"...like Leffot, but geared towards the tastes of Philadelphia’s well endowed shoe enthusiasts."

I guess the members that attend the trunk shoe will indeed be in good company.
