Yeah but who knows what that stuff really is that Alden calls Kudu.

If you looking for something in Croc, I would take your time and look around. Anything from top teir is going to cost you. You may even want to go Bespoke considering the premium your already going to have to pay.

I think that we can still get it accomplished. We have 5 on the TG73 last already in F width if you saw my update so as long as there are 6 it is good. If not, we can already have 6 on the MH71 in E width. I would prefer the TG73 but if MH71 is the only way, i would still do it. What about you?

Almost looks like the Walkton might have to be an MTO if you want it.

However there have been some GMTOs which failed initially but eventually made it in the long run.

My concern is also the premium for Gator shoes right now. Maybe next year, but I have so many shoes on order already and would really want to make sure that I have the fit perfected as well as my favorite last and style set before jumping on that. If that could all be done, I'd be in on it too!

Yes I love that jodhpur with the croc strap too. That is one I would definitely do and GG can do that too!

Alden's Kudu is not actual Kudu from what i was told by quite a few different people.

Walkton in Rosewood Kudu / Deep Vintage Cherry GMTO

Specs:
Price: ~ 8800 SEK ex-vat or over? (kudu upcharge?)
Model: Walkton
Color: Rosewood Kudu / Deep Vintage Cherry
Last: MH71 or TG73 (prefer)
Sole: Oak Bark Sole
Lining: Cherry

Interested parties:
@mw313 - (narrow width) (Prefer TG73 but fine with MH71)
@TtownMD - (E width) (Prefer TG73 but fine with MH71)

@Ironist (he may be out but has not given the final reply yet)

@harki (E width) (Fine with TG73 but prefer MH71)

@nickrut (E width on MH71)  (F width on TG73)

@bsmw (E width on MH71(prefer))  (F width on TG73)

@CFML (F width on MH71)  (F width on TG73) + metal toe tips if possible
@Easily Amused (E width) (TG73 or MH71)

@Flake (F width) (TG73 or MH71)

@mypants (E or F width - has ordered both in different lengths and could use advice) (TG73 or MH71)

Anyone still have interest on this one, so we can then have two GMTOs for the Rosewood Kudu?

And just to clarify, the kudu would only be at the vamp (where the cherry is in these pictures above) so the cherry would be at the toe (so the medallion would look okay), the facing, and the heel.

We have twelve people as of now for the Kudu Rosewood so we should be able do the Walkton GMTO. But I'm going to cap that make up to 10 participants. So please lets get the details in place so I can post the deposit link.

Specs
Price ex VAT : 8800 SEK (about $1100 USD)
Price inc VAT : 11000 SEK
Style: Walkton
Color: Rosewood Kudu / Vintage Cherry
Last: ?
Sole: Oak Bark Sole
Lining: Cherry

Lead time is about 5 months.

So this is the most up to date listing of who is in for the Walkton so far. We just need to narrow down which is the standard width for this pair (E or F) because we need 6 of the same width before others can be added. We also need to decide on either the MH71 or TG73. The current thoughts based on members who gave the Okay are above.

So based on this, we have these combos to look at from this group and with me in a narrow width, which makes 9 people:

-at least 5 F widths on the TG73

-3 F widths on the MH71

-3 E widths on the TG73

-at least 5 E widths on the MH71 (it can be 6 with @mypants on E)

So if it is EB is there a problem with a pair that you have and you need an insole to help fill up space? If so you can try to ask Skoak if they can get you a full sock liner.

If that doesn't work you can try some tongue pads or look for leather insoles that you can buy elsewhere. Tacco is one brand you can look up. Any nice leather insole would work to help take up space and still feel nice but in terms of thin enough ones to just take up space instead of being a leather covered arch support, tacco is probably the best quality that also has variety.

What size of the tacco leather insole would you order?  For say a Carmina simpson size 8 UK.  Or a G&G MH71 size 8UK.

they have them by size and then you can do extra cutting down if you need to adjust because as you probably have noticed, each last is shaped quite differently.

I've seen pictures and it looks nothing like the Kudu G&G sells. Its a flat non textured and one color leather that I highly doubt is real Antelope.

It has no connection to real antelope. It is a thick, waxy, oily leather that is damn near indestructible and great for hard-use footwear - but the "Kudu" aspect is just marketing.

I think I agree with you, Roger. For my collection/preference the darker color would have been welcomed.

Exactly. It is a waste to say kudu
