They only had a couple G&G on sale anyways. I went back as soon as they went additional 20% off and really didn't see anything

I understand that you do not have the facility to try these shoes on. For those of us that could venture to a flagship store the only inherent risk should have been the choice of leather and the colour.
After my visit I was in a similar position; take a chance. As we all know, just because we fit one size in one particular style, another style on a similar last can fit very differently.
I see nothing wrong in pointing that out, and I have expressed my sorrow at someone else's disappointment, have I said something wrong?

Feel free to order them from us, we have a 30 day return policy, if they don't fit just send them back, no worries. www.skoaktiebolaget.se

I love the MH71 in comparison to the TG73.
Fit and balance is much better on the MH71. TG is too chiseled for an oxford in my opinion.

See now this is my hope. Everything I've read sounds like I made the right choice. As with all the other internet choices hoping to confirm later. These unfortunately are the anxious moments before actual confirmation takes place.

I put my MH71 next to my EG 888 and they are probably the perfect amount of chisel without being pointy. I own a pair of Wigmores in the TG73 and they are a bit too chiseled for me but such a great combo its hard not to wear them. I would much prefer the MH71 though.

So would you say the 888 also compares real close in fit to the MH71 as well? Do you take the same size in both Lasts?

I find that in the same size and width, the MH71 is significantly slimmer and a bit shorter.

I take the same size and same width. I find the opposite though. 888 is narrower and shorter

I can understand one finding a Last narrower because it's extremely possible for the Last to be narrower at various points of the shoe. Of course some Lasting variances can occur from shoe to shoe as well. However for one to find it shorter than another seems strange. Unless this perception is somehow caused by the toe box being so narrow for their foot it causes them to believe the actual shoe is shorter.

Based on the TG73 that I own I would have to imagine your description of the length of the MH71 would be more accurate.

Goddammit.  All of this MH71 vs. TG73 is going to make me get another pair of G&G...probably MTO.  I have no MH71 and no Vintage Rioja in my rotation.  I want both very badly.

Non sequitur - does anyone have thoughts or real world experience with a shoe that is mainly pin grain leather?  I love the Chestnut pin grain, but I wonder if it would be too much for a whole shoe?
