They were a re-stock of the one Skoak had. Antique Edwardian, natural color single sole.

Some of the order came in a few months ago and some like mine were rejected and had to be re-made.

I actually went in on Skoaks Pre-Order for the Kudu\Cedar Calf St James. I can't wait to get my hands on that one. It's due in Sep I believe it was.

In regards to the Sinatra I do get it. Some shoes or boots don't work for me as much in one combination as they do in anothe for whatever the reason. Just as I have tended to gravitate towards the casual as you have the dressier options. Different strokes for different folks.

Yeah, I lean to the dressier side when it comes to shoes/boots (I don't own any bluchers/derbies in shoes, though I know I should according to the rules for my sportcoats/odd trousers). I will say that the Galway (or similar) is the exception: that will get done in at least two different make-ups at some point.

Believe me there was a period of time I was emailing Gabriel back and forth trying to get a status. Now I just email him once a month to see if he's heard anything. I'm really glad my Malverns came in so quickly in the meantime, that hasn't fixed it but it certainly helped. The Skanklins were a short tierm fix as well. My Thorpes are due next in about a month and a half I'm starting to wonder if these too will beat out the Falkirks. LOL

Speaking of Kudu, we have used up most of the Tan Kudu so now G&G only has enough for about 5 pairs, so single MTOs is the route. However, G&G has sourced a lighter Kudu, we are waiting for samples for this.

Thanks, mate. No, they have been around for a while and these pics have actually been posted in this thread before. I just thought they would be good to change the discourse in the thread around... :)

Those shoes are pretty fucking ugly. Are they really cheap? Is that why people buy them?

Yes, that is exactly why. Also, they are gemmed, which explains why they are so cheap (but not the ugliness).

I chose to participate on the first Thorpe Pre-Order of the year. It was the one in Arran Rustic Grain. A repeat from last year bit with speed hooks. At the time of the Pre-Order the ETA was Aug 15. The Thorpe Kudu Pre-Order took place shortly there afterwards and to be honest two Pre-Orders for the same boot even if different leathers was a bit much for me. After all we arent talking Galway here. LOL

Besides since the Kudu St James Pre-Order came out later I was then able to get my Kudu shoe in the long run.  The Kudu I didn't get that I still regret a little bit is the Isham that I missed last year.

Very interested to see this. I wonder if it is part due to our berating for samples of grey or lighter kudu last year? wink.gif
