Maybe we can meet up and get the SF crew from the philly area together!

Who from GG will be coming?

I will be there and possibly another member so I am game to get the crew together.

Great! I haven't gotten an email yet so I hope he sends it out soon.

That would be really great to get a few of us together for a drink and to talk shoes. Plus it would be great to put a face to the name!
PM me closer to the event so we know who to look for.

I had a pair of the same that I sold, which I regularly kick myself for doing .

I am actually also ashamed of myself for having taken a half size to big ... but I know that if I keep them piled up with my other G&G's they won't get worn .. !

Please start buying in size 10E please - The thought of piles of unworn G&G's is  stangely rather erotic and sexual - being abused by, should I call them, a herd of St James ii's is rather a pleasant thought - perhaps a gaggle of Kensingtons and a brace of Mayfairs - all of course on MH71's

Happy days me thinks.

I think this qualifies as the sale of the year:

G&Gs for RL for $150 US (on Clearance) at the Harry Rosen outlet! Picked a pair of Garricks!

Sales alert: Edward's of Manchester has some swell prices on remaining G&G shoes, most are try-on pairs from the shop, limited sizes.

Impressive indeed - as I am not wealthy I have to hide the GG boxes from my patient and otherwise very understanding partner. I feel bad when I mislead her by going out for the evening in a pair of Gaziano and Girling's which are also known as Crockett and Jones in our house lol

St James II for my birthday in July. Will be going to the Royal Academy summer exhibition with my 82 year old father (ex clicker) who incidentally thinks it is utter madness to spend £1000 on a pair of shoes with trees. I tend to agree but it is a sickness, madness or disease with which we are afflicted.

On such a limited budget there is still the big question, vintage oak, vintage rioja, vintage cherry or vintage cedar?

I suppose it depends which will look best with jeans :stirpot:

Please be careful - don't know if this report is true:

Iconic Edwards of Manchester shoe shop closes after trading for almost 200 years

An iconic shop that has been selling shoes in the city centre for almost 200 years has suddenly closed.

Edwards of Manchester in the Barton Arcade has been supplying made-to-measure shoes to clients since 1830.

But the now-empty shop, which fronts onto Deansgate, remains closed this morning after it was suddenly shut by its owner.

Edwards is England’s oldest independent shoe shop outside London, and has been based on the same site since it opened in the 1800s.

There is no information on its website, Facebook or Twitter page to tell customers that it is no longer trading.
