I've noticed the same comparing my moores to the St James. You definitely understand why the St James are more expensive.

I would certainly hope one could tell the difference.

Frankly I've never had any trouble telling the difference when comparing shoes at the $500 and $1000 dollar mark.

That is after all why a number of us buy the more expensive shoe, the difference is noticeable.

But Gable is a wholecut.

Correct.  Meant plain toe.

I would hope that we could notice a difference when we are paying that much more. It is well worth it for those details and the fit in my opinion!

Mitchell...love the comfort of the faux wingtip. The left was significantly darker than the right when new, but I've darkened the right over time.

We have a very similar style on order from Saint Crispin's in CRU609. But we won't stock the G&G version.

I'm not typically into the wingtip style, but these really work.  Nice evening on the color.

The Mitchell is my favourite wingtip bar none. Two pairs and a third on the way! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Thanks everyone! If I didn't have this pair, it would be much more difficult to resist Skoab's new chestnut St. James...I could still have a weak moment though.

patch[1].gif really? How is this possible, seeing as captoes and wingtips are TOTALLY DIFFERENT SHOES that justify separate pairs in the exact same colour? lol8[1].gif
