I always thought a vignette was a short story.

Hehe. Well sometimes you get to learn other stuff than shoe stuff.

Indoor studio shot. There's a very subtle blueish undertone to pearl grey.

I agree, as it's actually grey and not blue after all.

I did not realize how much entertainment there was in the G&G thread....

this is quite funny (and contradictory) considering the fact that you have a gemmed shoe in your avatar. I hope that you were being sarcastic.

This is also contradictory as you say that GY shoes are 'pretend shoes' yet you love your Edward Greens??

And what are GY welted shoes pretending to be? Handwelted? Really, said who?

GY welted shoes are necessary for 90% of the population that wants to wear Welted shoes. Not everyone can afford handwelted nor are there even close to enough makers in the world to be able to supply that kind of demand of welted shoes if we abolished those "pretend GY welted shoes." And assuming we did, you can forget about your shoes being made in England, Italy, France or any of the Western world.

Don't get me wrong, one is completely entitled to not like GY welted shoes, but to make statements that they are pretend shoes is just silly, especially when that same persons owns them.

Of course, I am bias to GY welted shoes as I supply them, but this is not the basis for my argument. It is to stop the bad (and incorrect) information that I see on this forum from brainwashing people that don't know any better.

My buddy bespoken(that Zug Galway really fostered brotherhood among men) was indeed being sarcastic. Most of us here find this discussion of GYW vs hand-welted absurd so we like to joke every time the topic becomes popular again.

Great looking boot.  If I didn't have a St C in the same style & color I would be all over that one

Pearl grey is a bit purplish in outdoor lighting...

But we've had so many flame wars about gemming! - Let's find a different topic: what about a flame war on gay marriage?
