Gaziano & Girling Appreciation & Shoe Appreciation Thread (including reviews, purchases, pictures, etc...) - Page 1017

First wearing of my new-to-me Oxfords. Just over 50 pairs of shoes in and I finally picked up a pair of black captoes. Worth the waiting, as I believe I got the perfect ones. Will work on a better shine now that I'm confident of the fit.

I know exactly what you mean. I don't have a black captoe in my rotation - on the other hand, I haven't yet reached the 50-pair mark, so there's time ...

Anyone have Woburns in the wild? For some reason I'm now picky off the proportions...maybe real life pics will help. smile.gif

See this thread not exactly in the wild but good pictures.

I am still interested in Woburn but not in chestnut leather. Maybe English grain or some other unique leather.

@laufer: Thanks! It actually helped as I thought a design was slightly plain but I noticed the subtle single-punch around the throat.

The Sandringham is a great looking shoe and I love the 202 last. That is the only last that EG can make in my size anyway. The Woburn is great too, but I have to say that I love the extra design (a thistle?) on the side of the Sandringham. My only concern is if this show in the Chestnut antique on the 202 will look too similar to my Alderley in Gold Delapre on the 202. Thoughts?
DUDE! So torn now between the Woburn and the Sandringham! I really prefer the shape of the wingtip and the thistle of the Sandringham but the Woburn is on sale. Argh! ffffuuuu.gif

Here are my Canterbury boots. Gray/gray suede. Really don't plan to wear them with jeans but it's casual Friday so I take advantage (Fridays are typically Alden days):

Wow that's awesome! I'm jealous, let me know if you ever plan to sell them!

Thanks! I really like the "museum" finish on them; it's a bonus over a uniform gray. You'll be number one on the list!

Now I need to figure out if they're too close to my EG Shannon in black/cloud. satisfied.gif

Those are great! I love the two tone with suede.

In terms of the sandringham vs woburn, what is the price difference? If it is substantial, it may be worth the cost savings if the last for the woburn is a good one.

Oak Room has the Woburn in chestnut in GG06. Nutcracker can provide more details.
