BEAUTIFUL! I still prefer the design of the Nevis but I can appreciate the look of the Thorpe!

My Wigmores are on the way but that's the exact combo I got except leather sole. It's a shame they didn't work for you Roger

Sorry to hear, wrong size?

I struggle a bit with the TG73 last and knew this going in. Sometimes it works, sometimes it's a bit too snug. The black oxford is TG73 10E and fits fine, the suede is the same size, but just a bit snug. The vintage oak is TG73 that I thought I'd try in 10.5E and is a bit big.

Sorry to hear, and it is surprising to me how the same Last same size can vary like it does at times. I imagine there's a reasonable explanation.

I guess it might have to do with the shoes being hand lasted?

I notice this when oxford vs. blucher or shoes vs. boots; however, I've been lucky to have general consistency.

To me these examples are understandable. But I've experienced this with a Dover and Derwent both on the 202. I guess you could say theyre a little different.

I wonder this as well - went back to the sale today, tried on 2 pairs of loafers on the KN14 last in a 9.5E, but no dice - too much buckling with my high instep. Yet the Monacos I got yesterday were same last, same size, no buckling. Go figure.

This is why I came away empty handed yesterday. Everything I own is dg70 but I tried two pairs on. The Warwick and Connaught austerity brogue. Both to big in the instep and lacing closed fully. I thought maybe I was going mad / feet were cold so shrunk. Tried on a Kensington in dg70. Perfect. Exactly right. They are supposed to be identical except in toe box. There is no way that can be true in my experience.

So how much do Deco trees cost? I assume the new "standard" trees don't fit them?

And some pics of my Dorchester in church!
