I'm curious to find out how G&G's popularity has grown in the general market. Of course SF and even the EG association brings attention to them in addition to their work with RL.

I doubt it's "branding" like Versace or Prada but it appears that their marketing move has been positive, especially for a new company that competes with the "old name" factories. Impressive to say the least.

It is actually very much like Versace or Prada - it is not a widely known fact but G&G are 30% owned by one of the richest men in the world who's 'other half' happens to run LVMH (and is daughter of Bernard Arnault). It's no great surprise that they are moving quickly.

I think he's referring to Versace and Prada's branding rather than the brands themselves.

The relentless marketing, advertising and hype of brands like Prada, Versace and many others stands in stark contrast to G&G - does G&G do any advertising at all?

Fast St. Ives delivery from Nick...perfect. My wife, "Those are the same as the ones you have on. Except one has a curved line and one has a straight line." Comparing to a Vass austerity brogue...if only I thought they were all the same.

I was referring to the branding as well, which of course isn't the same as marketing. G&G have received huge investment to not only improve their manufacturing capabilities but also build their brand as the Savile Row opening shows. The marketing of the brand will come next; indeed I was looking at a half page G&G ad in an in-flight magazine last month.

hilarious, how boxes of them are sold on the floors of a rented room like rags at a bazaar. this is such a strange combination of feeling to see something you want very much, but are slightly relieve you cant purchase, but also slightly jealous, then try and put on a smiley face when someone posts a pic of their kop. my emotions are terribly confused

My two pairs from today! The Monaco's were slightly used (prob 1-3 times) like the previous posters shoes, again they were a steal at £150. The Kensington were firsts and priced at £500. Went there looking for a pair of loafers and a pair of formal oxfords for work or a pair of boots, kind of hit the jackpot! Feels good to have gone from 1 pair of G&G to three in a day smile.gif

Terrible pictures, will polish this weekend and post some better ones!

Which, as I patiently explain to my partner over and over again, makes them COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, and ergo, I must have them. lol8[1].gif
