That's Tony. A large portion of the factory workers were actually in G&Gs, usually shoe factory workers wear flip flops or such.

Can't tote the company line if you never tried their products!

I'm not a fan of the new St James II broguing pattern in the heel, especially how there's no curvature (like the old design) when it meets the welt, judging by the pic.

Thanks to Nick at Bespoke England for the excellent service and helping me acquire a boot that's long been on my want list

Yes - for a non-bespoke shoe, at any rate. Ideally, the ball would be a tad wider but flatter, instep a bit higher and the heel cup ever so slightly roomier. But I've tried F width and/or half-size up/down and found them to be suboptimal. Oh well.

More pics in the wild:

I think they look pretty good either way, but my understanding is that if you are doing MTO, there is some level of adjustment that you can request. On my MTOs, GG make my right shoe toe box slightly wider (per my request), and i recall other people having instep adjustments made on their MTOs. It might be something worth discussing with you GG retailer in the future...

True - this particular pair was stock, not MTO, so for the sake of £400 I was willing to compromise!

Does anyone have both G&G's oak hatch grain and EG's Walnut country calf? If so, how close in color are they? Thanks.
