A cut costs measure.

That is interesting, it makes sense if they have the grey leather available to them now. I am guessing that is a better way of going about doing it instead of bleaching the black crust leather. I was always curious if bleaching somehow decreased the integrity of the leather, but that is a @DWFII question.

I will however miss that slight brown that emerged from the beached deco toe. If i pick up another deco black calf GG shoe in the future, i will compare it to the ones i have now...

If you simply want the deco black calf leather, but on a non-deco model/standard, it can be done. It does however require approval by GG, so you will have to ask your retailor/stockist when you request a quote. I have asked a couple of retailers about this, and there seems to be no uncharge for the deco black calf leather, at least as of my last inquiry...

That should be the next gmto. I don't think I've seen that before. Could be good

My (soon hopefully to be somebody else's) Holdens in deco black - the bleaching in my version came out almost like a dove-grey - pairs beautifully with grey or charcoal trousers, but I struggle to see them go with anything else in my wardrobe. Can anyone with sartorial prowess give any ideas? (Pics or it never happened!)

I don't know what chemical they are using to bleach the leather. Modern times...

About the only "safe" bleach I know of is Oxalic acid and that only works on veg tanned leather. Some say lemon juice but I've never seen any results using it.

That said, it's just philosophically contrary to what I'd do to any upper leather. I can't imagine it having zero deleterious effect. If it's powerful enough, destructive enough, to remove the dye and the finish...

Sick. Any clue how you are going to wear these? Thinking about midnight blue myself.

A shoe in with grey trousers I figure (pun intended). Or in any scenario I would wear black shoes. My style is more casual, not to many suits in my lineup...

Coming soon! Thanks Nick.

So, Jubei, what will you pair yours with? I'm having difficulties as this sculpted last is a dressy one but the large-scale grain is a country leather.

Reminds me how much I love midnight blue.

Also, that stingray sinatra is sick! Does stingray have any longevity/durability issues?
