No...I haven't either. Will email him again right now.

I just ordered a pair of Uppingham's in Rioja on his website though.

Whoa...am I reading these new prices correctly? Are these just markups or has the make changed too?

Yes you are.  G&G now includes shoe trees with their shoes.   Take the example of St. James.  They used to cost £615 ex VAT.  Shoe trees were £115 ex VAT, so in total £730 ex VAT.  The new price of £770 ex VAT represents a 5.5% increase to people who would buy the trees anyway.

How can G&G's own webstore charge more than those of their retailers? Edwards of Manchester charge around 740£ for a pair, less than the factory -- and here I thought factory shops or webstores are the finest source.

Oh well, they can sell at that price if they want, it's up to us to make the purchase.

As good as G&Gs are, there are other options out there (in regards to the markups).

I bought a pair of RTW black Chelsea on last 888 a couple of years ago.  Maybe you should ask the EG store to see if they have any left

The G&G webstore includes trees with the shoes, but Edwards of Manchester don't, so you are not comparing apples to apples.

Having said that, it does look like Edwards are still selling old stock and not updated the new prices.
