Nice colour, nice shape. Still don't know about shell but who knows. Kind of interesting, the boot looks to be on a Ridgeway sole based on the way that heel looks. Pretty unique all round I'd say.

it is the ridgeway. you can tell from the grooves of the rubber heal and the gap between the bottom of the shoe and the table on which it sits

What's your opinion on the use of the Ridgeway sole on this boot?

It's a great sole for poor conditions but I like it better for a non-balmoral boot.

IMHO, when Shell Codovan looks like this, you ought to consider it. This is my next boot.

Nice. What last? I can't tell I'd it is DG70 or GG06.

Berry Nioce!

Have you worn them yet?

I'd be very interested in your thoughts on a comparison of G&G to Vass.

And yes, service from Nick at Bespoke England is always superlative.

Thank you sir. No, I received them this week. Vass is my favorite of all, Vass leather quality is the same or even nicer and I like the lasts more. I also prefer the soles of Vass shoes. It's the best value at less than half the price of G&G.

G&G's are so elegant and refined, colors are beautiful. I'm not a fan of most the lasts but I love the MH71 last and the fit is as perfect as my Vass, the shoe trees are great and they have so many nice models, I really like the westminster in vintage chestnut for example, or one of the loafers. I also like to deal with people like Nick. I only own a couple of pairs but I hope this is not the last one. :D

I don't know about construction and I don't care really, both look very well made to me.

Thanks, this is the Kent in vintage cherry, MH71 last.

^ The vintage cherry model i tried on looked a lot more light brown than your deep red, which i would prefer the version in your pics. Is the vintage cherry in your pics accurate to the color of your shoes in person?

Yes, they are darker than I thought, I was expecting the color to be lighter and brighter red. I like the darker tone.
