Nice right up. Lots of good insights into the GG operation, and a bit of controversy to boot... lurker[1].gif

Met Mr. Girling today at Wilkes Bashford and popped my G&G cherry (and my $1k+ shoe cherry) with an MTO due in January :slayer:

It is actually a standard G&G medalion, except they connected the brogue dots with lines

brilliant idea. i love it.

Antibes in vintage pine. Was a bit more pricey ordering from Wilkes, but I'm glad I got the chance to be fitted by Dean. I had to size down all the way to an 8.5E despite being a 9.5/10D US.

One grail down, three more to go.

I had the same experience, in that I've been wearing the wrong length due to width forever.  Have been wearing 9/9.5 US and went 8F in G&G after a fitting with Tony.

Yeah wish there were more wider widths more readily available as pretty much every shoe I have is longer than it needs to be but any size smaller and width and my flat feet have issues.

What mto did you get?

I think they might get a few more customers if they offered some sensible pricing. At the last G&G trunkshow, the asking price for an MTO was close to 900pounds and you have to ask yourself what you might be getting here that you could not get from an outstanding reseller like Bespoke England. The venue was the 4 seasons and the entire event came across as being very snooty...a bit of a turnoff for those who see through such affectation.
