Cheers guys!

Clee1982: No MTO, Skoaktiebolaget stocks a couple of pairs in F-width, which I think is great.

Coxaca and Wurger: I've given them some cream and polish myself.

yup definitely agree, at full price I would probably be going for something more casual, like Hove, probably in DG70

http://www.bespoke-england.co.uk/products/hove-vintage-oak

Or MH71

Thanks! The trees are Skoaktiebolagets own trees ( http://www.skoaktiebolaget.se/taxonomy/term/17 ), also made by Springline (who makes the trees for G&G). They fit MH71 very well, probably works nice for TG73 as well. Cheaper than the lasted trees. And they are stained, not coated.

Obviously, I was joking about buying Spoo's pair of Fairmonts at full price.  I agree the Hove is a terrific looking shoe (there's a nice pair on eBay for a small foot) and I thought about getting a pair from Bespoke before succumbing to cheaper, and perfectly acceptable split toe derby alternatives (AS Charlton and Carmina Taylor).

I was thinking of GG because I like the stiching GG (and EG) does with split toe (invisible, or whatever you call it...) instead of the AS/Carmina/Alden version

the G&G thorpe and EG Nevis are both great in pebble grain, even in black!

Yeah I see a lot of people who took advantage of recent sales are listing them on eBay. Some are very reasonable (several in the mid to high 500s). Some are ridiculous (800s). rl_store has theirs for $699. I guess if they have your size it's not too high of a price.

nah, 700 vs. 449 (or 500 ish plus tax and shipping, if you include paypal his base cost is probably 550~), I will pass, and bet it to appear cheaper another time from someone who decide MH71 is a poor fit for them satisfied.gif

Folks I'm returning a Chelsea in size UK 7.5E/US 8 today to SF Barneys. Get it there or PM me if you want to grab it from me at cost (a little more expensive b/c of PayPal fees and such).

Chelsea: http://www.barneys.com/Gaziano-Girling-Perforated-Cap-Toe-Slip-On/501812008,default,pd.html

Also have a Lobb Brentwood in UK 7E/US 8 that will be sending back too:
