Excellent business model. ...why can't other high end firms do this.

If you're in Harrods, go to the men shoe section in the basement and ask for Hamza to show you around the fortified exotics and MTO room...Lots of Crocs & Lizards at crazy prices....

Risk...

It is a lot to ask a high end business to send a stranger in another country a sample of their merchandise, in hopes of them ordering.

Nick's service is unheard of, and I was besides myself with his generosity and honor bound trust. Nothing short of amazing service...

Agree - it's a hugh risk for Nick to send some stranger a £700 pair of shoes with no guarantee of the shoes coming back in the same condition. This kind of service is unheard of in today internet driven business models.... What Nick offers is like a pop-up shop by your door-step. The only cost to you is the return postage, and the healthy walk to the post office.

+1. He did that with me too the first time I ordered from him and it did help me a lot, the shoes were small and I ended returning them and ordering half size bigger. I was really impressed when he did that. Man I was super careful with those shoes, good thing they were obviously tight and I didn't have to take 1 step in them smile.gif

I was in Harrods last summer and some big Russian built like Usain Bolt was trying a few pairs of Corthay and Lobbs.....Must have been a Harrods black card holder, had 2 sales assistant and 10+ pairs of shoes, trying them on and stretching the living daylight out of the ultra narrow Corthays....to the point you can see the vamp creasing and burnished colour cracking.... The Lobbs were in a pretty bad state when he took them off.....I was livid when he decided not to buy any shoes. Imagine how the sales guys felt. Christ.

Thanks. I would rather send a pair or two if necessary to any worldwide destination for trial especially to styleforum members because I know that the shoes would be cared for much more than the average man walking off the street in to my store and trying on lots of pairs without any care for the shoes. Everyone here is so knowledgeable about high end shoes that you all have a great respect for their value and beauty. The post above about the guy in Harrods confirms this.
