I'd echo that.

I only intend to wear my G&G's on special situations as I have about 15 other pairs of shoes as well so I'm thinking the Cherry makes sense. It is also by far my favorite G&G model so itd be hard to justify the price for something else. I have been looking at the AS Moore's more and more though as well. A good 3-400 dollars cheaper...

The AS Moore are a good alternative.

The G&G St. James is the prettiest shoe I own by a county mile (although I do own some howlers so take that statement with a pinch of salt).

Think Nick refers to it as "Heel Counter"  http://www.bespoke-england.co.uk/products/st-james-ii-vintage-cherry-calf-tg73-e-medium-fit

I rather like "Heel Scab"...which I've heard (and used) on a number of occasions esp. with regard to boots. I suspect, "counter" is close to the correct term, however.
