Gaziano & Girling Appreciation & Shoe Appreciation Theard - Page 259

I agree to most of it.

One of the most important things is to try the different lasts to see which of them suits you more if we are talking RTW.

John Lobb Prestige and G&G RTW for me are in line in terms of quality. My only concern with G&G is that the sole wears out pretty quickly but they are so great that I don't care.

G&G lasts and styles are more modern and John Lobb more classic. I prefer the latter for a wedding for example and G&G for everyday use.

Of course you have some G&G that are conservative:

262

And some modern Lobbs:

262

So both of them are cool, so you should choose taking into account the model you like, not the brand.

All depends on your foot and which lasts fit you best.  JL has access to more leather than G&G.

G&G have more aggressive designs while JL tends to have designs that are far better balanced, IMO.  For classic styles, it all really depends; i.e., G&G Oxford > JL City but JL Williams > all G&G monkstraps.

Construction wise, its all gemmed.

Nik!! Man it is good to see you back again!

Can I assume your "busy" weekend is over and that it is back to selling those G&G beauties in earnest again?

I will PM to discuss details if you don't mind Nik, hopefully we can finalize an order just as soon as you have attended to that client who bought the crocodile farm!

Nik, that is just too much to absorb in one image, man, that is just beautiful.

You can sort of understand the excess, I mean, imagine trying to choose only one or two out of the whole lot? What would you leave behind?

Give us a clue Nik, who is he?

Okay, what size are the shoes and we will figure the rest out ourselves.

Spoo? Did you inherit some money recently?

And G&G croc hide is the best in the business

I can see you are going to be busy for a while with this guy, get back to me when you're finished please Nik.
