Beautimous! I'm so happy that you won't need to amputate any toes to make them fit. I hope they are very snug though - as they will stretch with wearing.

Were they MTO? I notice toe taps.

Now just try not to wear them to bed, or in the shower and stuff. biggrin.gif

I noticed a quite big difference between 7.5E and 8E. Nick sent me the 7.5 first but they were so tight my foot hurt by just putting them on. Then i tried a 8E oxford in a store and they fitted very nice and snug but when i got the 8E boot it didn´t fit as snug as the oxford i tried. Isn´t 8E always the same size or is it a small variation due to the fact that they do so small series of shoes?

Could be because one was a boot and one was an oxford. Also, the last could affect it as well I am sure.

Of course but it was the same last and i tried 7.5E in both and they were very tight. It could be a feeling that the boot in 8E is slight bigger then the oxford since i don´t have both and can try them at the same time. It´s not a problem as the boots fit very well it just struk my mind as i put my foot in them the first time...the only way to adress this is to go bespoke and i´m not there yet biggrin.gif

How is the shoe Carmina compare to G&G?

Carminas are nice, but not even close to G&G in terms of perfection/quality of materials and workmanship.

Carmina is more in line with C&J benchgrade or just a step above, IMO.

However, Carmina is a good bit less expensive than G&G as well.

You gets what you pays for.

I figured that. I just want to throw away my C&J shoes after touching the G&G. But what other brands are in the same class as G&G and quality wise or even better if there is. Or it's going bespoke?

I have Carmina and G&G shoes. I love them both. The G&Gs are definitely a higher level of quality...it's hard for me to explain exactly why, not being a shoe expert, but you can tell the difference in handling the shoes. But that said, Carminas are gorgeous shoes. They feel and look great. The G&Gs just have an additional level of artistry and poetry in them.

Beyond G&G your choices become pretty limited:

Ready to wear you can look at Edward Green, and John Lobb amongst the major English makers.

Vass are totally handmade (G&G is not)

St. Crispen's are excellent.

Corthay, Berluti and JM Weston from France.

Top of the line Sutor Mantellasi from Italy.

Each have their own aesthetic.

Help me out guys.......who else can compare to G&G in terms of RTW.

That's a good list right there. But I have never seen a pair of Vass in my life only on the internet, they look darn nice. Maybe will get me one of those aswell.
