Gaziano & Girling Appreciation & Shoe Appreciation Theard - Page 738

Picked these up from Paul Stuart.

The box said vintage burgundy...its a paul stuart box...

Thinks its G&G's vintage burgundy or is it rioja? I've only encountered rioja once up close and personal

The lack of a picture isn't helping your case.

I haven't seen Rioja at PS. I have Hayes Rioja from Leffot.

Oh sorry, didn't realize. Could be Rioja, but like usual tough to tell with digital pictures and uncertain light conditions. My precise judgement is that it doesn't look like Rioja (yours are less purple), but it could be due to lighting and is within the range of error. Ergo ipso facto de minimus epluribus unum, idunno.

I lace many of my oxfords in this interesting way because they tend to slip in the heel just a little bit...where a size down is too small....so lacing this way prevents the heel slip.

I will post more pics of this later as I'm busy now....the way i've done it i've found to be a very good solution to dealing with a minor heel slip and easier than adding a pad.

I like it very much. I think it is perfect for that type of shoe, where you want to make it less...'formal' (for lack of finding a better word)
