Trump is #2 in GOP Field - Page 56

Obama really thinks most of us are so dumb by using sports figures to try, and get us to empathize with Muslims. Can't believe he mentioned that.
If Trump hadn't made his statement, nobody would have paid the slightest bit of attention to that mention. Who cares?

Just shows how adept Trump is at playing the media to put attention on himself. Trump didn't really even say anything, but he gets attention, gets a dig at PC culture, and could serve as a nice little dogwhistle for anyone who would be inclined to distrust Muslims.

I saw the speech, and when he mentioned that sports thing, I thought he couldn't mention a better representation of Muslim contributions to society? Couldn't care less about Trump's tweet about "What Muslim athletes?"

And as far as Muslim athletes... Ali is the first that comes to mind, but I guess he wouldn't count for most dumb Americans.

Raha Moharrak has long been my sports hero. I have a huge poster of her in my office.

Just the need to point out the contributions should be a sign that something isn't right. A culture that has been successfully integrated into the U.S. wouldn't need continual defending like this.

On one side of the balance sheet we have a whole slew of terrorist attacks that have killed thousands of innocent people, one of which had a catastrophic impact on the economy, increased government intrusion and spiraled into wars that resulted in the deaths of thousands of US soldiers and civilian casualties. On the other side you've got, well, I'm not sure. I'm not aware of any positive outcomes from all of this that couldn't be obtained through other immigrants that don't pose this same threat. The whole thing is absurd. Let's keep importing these people and to combat our own stupidity come up with ways to equip passenger airliners with missile deflection technology, spy on and collect data from everyone because we are too PC to profile, and then eventually do the exact opposite of profiling by turning the whole thing upside down and start blaming everyone except the people who are committing acts of violence. Makes perfect sense.

While Donald Trump faces mounting opposition from members of the media, federal lawmakers and fellow White House hopefuls, another anti-Trump effort is taking place across the pond.

A new petition to keep the Republican presidential hopeful from entering the United Kingdom due to "his continued, unrepentant hate speech" could be considered for a debate in Parliament.

The petition, created by Scottish resident Suzanne Kelly and submitted to U.K. Home Secretary Theresa May, cites precedent for government officials banning individuals from entering the U.K. due to their offensive rhetoric. May banned U.S. rapper Tyler, the Creator from entering the country in late August based on lyrics from one of his songs, and two anti-Muslim U.S. bloggers were banned from entry in 2013.

Par for the UK course.

I'm surprised no one in Canada has started a similar petition.

Can we start a US petition for that half-gay socialist Canadian ruler?

Oh no, we can't because this is America and we have freedom of speech. Dammit.
Holy fuck my ass, I had no idea this was a thing.

It's Wikipedia, so it's probably fake, but Martha Stewart and Mike Tyson are banned from the UK. Please, black pudding eaters, can any of you confirm this?

What is the criteria for person of the year?  I feel like "black lives matter activists", Jenner, and the uber CEO would not come close by any criteria I have.  Trump wouldn't either though, so my criteria is wrong, and I'm an idiot.

LOL, some radio talk show host? How in the hell can you take that country seriously?
Presumably it's because Stewart and Tyson are felons. At least, I think Tyson is a felon. Didn't he beat up his wife or something?

Rape. Represented by Alan Derschowitz on appeal, no less.
